Learning is Visual

Read Chapter 5 in Interface Design for Learning (Peters, 2013). Identify three to five learning engagement principles based upon the chapter. Each principle discussed should consist of a 150–250 word explanation and apply to what is shown in the presentation of the interactive book, as a comment to this blog. Remember to use proper APA-style formatting for in-text citations and references in your writing.

1) Aesthetics-Usability Effect In the referred video, museum visitors have the opportunity to be pleased and educated by using an interactive book that provides an innovative interface that blends an appealing visual design (including animations) to teach about historical events (among other topics) comprehensibly. These appealing visual elements enhance learning capabilities and engage the student as well due to the "Aesthetics-Usability Effect" concept being applied. The visual elements provided support "clarity, communication, comprehension, and emotion". According to Peter (2013), such visual designs that combine a pleasing interface with a beautiful interactive adaptation enable the learner to be engaged, causing a positive mood which leads them to increase motivation for learning and lead the learner to solve problems more creatively as well.
